The link opens to a daily celebration of that great narrative without which our stories cannot become all they were intended to be: the liberating truth that the good life is not a matter of pursuing our dream, living out our passion or accomplishing a great feat. It is, rather, a matter of becoming small like children, celebrating our fundamental weakness and living a life of humility, repentance, worship and service. The Great Story of God is not, therefore, restricted to a few heroic souls or strong people; it is accessible to us all.
The story is divided into small sections, short visits, as it were. There is an overall flow and sequence, but each small unit can be read as a stand-alone meditation as well. The reflections result from personal experience, study and observation. I write thinking very much of younger people contemplating God’s call or beginning the journey of ministering fully to others, especially in a mission setting, but also to all those serving others, and to anyone on the journey of the Christian life. Bits and pieces of my own story flow in and out of my reflections on God’s story….
